I was awarded an Arts Council Research and Development Grant to explore my creative responses to employment disability discrimination. This artpiece is the result of the collaboration between myself, Jon Adams (sound artist) and Caglar Kimyoncu (film maker).  My immediate creative response to the injustice was a series of charcoal drawings repeatedly erased, photographed and redrawn on one piece of paper, unconsciously imitating the ‘wiping out’ of the person when discrimination occurs.  Jon Adams created the sound piece from recordings of my Employment Tribunal, my chanting of Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo.  Caglar Kimyoncu stitched the sounds to my images to create this film.

I wanted to show what discrimination looks like, sounds like and feels like.
